Hello and thank you for visiting my website. My name is Dr. Sham Persaud and I am happy to be serving the Greater Pittsburgh area for their foot and ankle ailments as it has truly became home for me.

I was initially introduced to the medical field through participation in sports. My personal experience with athletic injuries led me to want to help others going through similar circumstances. My passion is to help get patients back to doing the things they love and need to do.

I have dedicated my practice to specializing in foot and ankle surgery. I enjoy educating patients on their conditions and working as a team to create the best treatment plan for those I serve.

Growing up in Bradenton, Florida I had exposure to Pittsburgh culture early through the Pirates. I was fortunate enough to participate in both watching and working with the team, as well as, lucky enough to play high school games on at Pirate City in Lecom Park. After high school, I attended Saint Leo University where I graduated with honors in 2010. I continued my passion for learning as I earned both my medical degree and masters in health care administration and management from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in 2015. I completed my surgical residency at West Penn Hospital and AHN health system in 2018.

Directly after residency training, I was accepted into one of the top foot and ankle fellowships specializing in trauma and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. I finished my fellowship in 2019 under Dr. Mark Hofbauer with The Orthopedic Group out of Mon Valley Hospital.

During my time in both residency and fellowship, I have published numerous journal articles including my own novel surgical procedure. I continue to remain active in education with the AHN Hospital residency with research efforts and providing lectures both locally and nationally.

My personal interests include golfing, Pittsburgh sports and spending time with my family.
